Kuchi-no erabu jima erupted explosively at May 29, 2015

Kuchi-no Erabu Jima "口永良部島" is located in Kagoshima Pref, Japan.

Last year this volcano erupted a little for the first time in 34 years. Following today's eruption, the Japan Meteorological Agency raised the volcanic alert level from 3 to 5. Level 3 is the highest alert level and means people must evacuate.

2015年5月29日午前9時59分頃、鹿児島県口永良部島の新岳が爆発的噴火をし、火砕流も発生しました。
これに伴い、噴火警戒レベルが3「入山規制」から5「避難」に引き上げられました。
